THE SECOND COW: An imaginary evolution of fake news with headlines: The first headline is
The Cow Jumps Over the Moon! Fake news. Plausibility zero. A common illustration of the crescent moon, over which the cow allegedly jumped, reveals sparkling stars within the cradle of the crescent. We know this is a shadowed area of a solid sphere; the cow would not have cleared the low “hurdle” of light. The next headline: Second Cow Finds Moon Surprise. Since the first cow never returned with a report of the experience, the Second Cow was surprised to discover the spatter pattern on the surface of the moon made by the first cow’s impact, as well as the first cow standing nearby. Now there were two cows on the moon. How did they survive? Ah! The moon is made of cheese! The next headline declares: Indirect Cannibalism Credited for Cow Survival UPSHOT: By now you realize that this investigation of fake news is represented by imagery hanging in an art gallery in the United States, confirming that Art Makes America Great! which is true. |
