Artist's Statement:
I graduated from Oberlin College in Ohio with a major in Studio Art, then moved to Berkeley to discover what the West Coast had to offer. In the late sixties it offered up the Mendocino coast where I have made my home first at the ocean’s edge and now at the forest’s rim. I work from my imagination, my inner vision and emotions, inspired and informed by home, garden, forest, fields, seasons, the ever-changing nature, which I explore and illuminate in oils, acrylics and mixed media collage. I have played with many mediums including fabric paper maché and beadwork, but often find myself returning to oil. That said, my newest eight works here, followed by older favorites are acrylic paintings.

In this self portrait, the artist flops over exhausted, with a latte in her hand and wine on standby for the 5 o’clock hour. In spite of her dejection, she surrounds herself with her napping cat, a warm fire, and living plants. She obviously has not given up hope.
The face masks are hung on the fireplace with care, in hopes that a vaccine soon will be there.
