David L. Cross
Marine Paintings in Acrylic

Picture
Standing Green, 24"x30", acrylic on canvas

DAVID L. CROSS was born and raised in Northern California's Sacramento Valley just east of the Coastal Mountain Range. He studied at Shasta College and California State University where he earned his Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts in 1972.

Cross has shown his paintings in Sausalito as well as galleries in Pacifica, Berkeley, Concord, Los Gatos, Chico, Redding, Ferndale, Gualala, and Mendocino.

While living in San Francisco during the mid 1970's David's studio window overlooked the Pacific Ocean. A gradual transformation of mood and eventually theme began to appear in the paintings he produced. The timeless ocean gradually became the center of interest.

The love for the pounding surf and the demand for his marine paintings provide the artistic challenge that David now enjoys. He lives on the Mendocino Coast with his wife Linda and son Brian.

His paintings are in private and corporate collections throughout the United States and Canada.
