Celebrating Women as a Fearless Tribe:
Unique Paintings on Ceramic Plates and Bowls
For several years now clay has been my canvas. I love how it feels, and how it absorbs the glaze. Best of all is the magic that takes place in the kiln when I’m not even looking!
I usually listen to music as I paint in my studio, sometimes even dancing around paint brush in hand! Often though, I chant as I paint. I chant especially for the liberation of women who are being mistreated and suffering injustices nearly everywhere on the planet. As stories of war, suffering and loss continue to unfold, especially involving women and children, some of my deepest feelings begin to merge onto my canvas of clay. I’m inspired to envision a world where women reclaim their dignity and live in harmony and equality within the true spirit of liberation and freedom...as women who are part of a “A Fearless Tribe.” I hope when you look at my work, it will make you happy and make you smile. An expression of gratitude for the two wonderful men who help me with the kiln end of my projects: thank you to Ryan who threw all the magnificent plates and bowls for me, and a special “thank you” to my partner Jan for his loving support from start to finish!
