Artist's Statement
Lynne Whiting Robertson is a premier plein air painter living on the north coast of California. She has been painting for most of her life. She earned her degree in fine arts from Humboldt State University, and has continued her education over the years with numerous courses and workshops in various media. Her focus in recent years has been painting with oils, out of doors, en plein air. Having balanced a teaching career, a family, and an ongoing passion for painting, 10 years ago she then found herself up to the challenge of painting outdoors in nature. This method is a challenge because it includes rapidly changing sunlight, unexpected gusts of wind, biting insects, and the occasional curious passerby. Lynne feels that the experience of being immersed in the environment and to see the colors first hand is worth the effort.
